Account & Billing

Sprig offers three plans: Free ($0 — browse and save community recipes, manual recipe writing, meal planning), Standard ($6.99/mo or $49.99/yr — 20 AI generations, 30 imports, modifications, and more), and Pro ($11.99/mo or $79.99/yr — unlimited generations, AI Chef Assistant, Pro badge). Both paid plans include a 7-day free trial.

You can cancel anytime through your device's subscription settings. On iOS, go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Sprig and tap Cancel. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued, but you won't be charged again.

Yes. You can switch plans at any time from your device's subscription settings. If you upgrade from monthly to annual, the change takes effect immediately. Annual plans save up to 40% compared to monthly billing.

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account in the Sprig app. This permanently removes your account, recipes, and all associated data. Make sure to cancel any active subscriptions first. If you need help, email us and we'll process it for you.

Your recipes stay in your library — you never lose anything you've already created or saved. You just won't be able to generate new AI recipes, import from URLs/photos, or use AI modifications until you re-subscribe.

Features & How-To

Describe any dish in plain language — like "creamy mushroom risotto, serves 4" — and Sprig instantly generates a complete recipe with ingredients, step-by-step instructions, prep/cook times, nutrition facts, chef tips, and a professional AI-generated photo. You can filter by cuisine, difficulty, dietary needs, and allergens.

The AI Chef Assistant is a voice-based cooking companion available on the Pro plan. Talk to it hands-free while you cook — ask questions like "what temperature should the pan be?" or "can I substitute butter for oil?" and get natural, human-sounding voice responses powered by ElevenLabs. It's like having a professional chef in your kitchen.

Tap the import button in Sprig and choose your source: paste a URL from any recipe website, take a photo of a recipe card or cookbook page, upload a PDF, or paste text directly. Sprig's AI extracts and formats everything into a clean recipe card — and you can modify it immediately after import.

Add recipes to your calendar by meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks). Your shopping list builds automatically from planned meals, organized by store section with duplicates merged. Sprig also syncs your meal plan to Apple Calendar and Google Calendar so it lives alongside your schedule.

A generation is when you create a brand-new recipe from a text description. A modification is when you change an existing recipe (e.g., "make it vegan" or "halve the servings"). Imports from URL, photo, or PDF count against your import limit, not your generation limit. Saving community recipes and writing manual recipes are always free and unlimited.

Troubleshooting

Make sure you're using the same sign-in method you originally used (email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google). If you signed up with Apple or Google, the email/password login won't work — and vice versa. Try resetting your password via the login screen. If you're still stuck, email us with the email address on your account.

First, check that you have remaining generation credits for the month (visible in Settings). If you're on the Free plan, AI generation is not available — upgrade to Standard or Pro. If you have credits and it's still failing, try closing and reopening the app, check your internet connection, and make sure you're running the latest version from the App Store.

Make sure Sprig has calendar permissions enabled. Go to your device's Settings > Sprig > Calendars and ensure access is turned on. Then open Sprig's meal planning settings and verify the correct calendar is selected. Changes may take a few minutes to sync. If the issue persists, try toggling the calendar permission off and back on.

Make sure you're on the latest version of Sprig from the App Store. Try force-closing the app and reopening it. If the issue continues, restart your device. For persistent performance problems, contact our team with your device model and iOS version so we can investigate.
